The Media { Social & Otherwise} Break is MUCH -NEEDED & Long Overdue

I am BEYOND ready for a media break. Today has been shitty & this sabbatical will be so much more rest-full once I get up to our NC " cabin" {Really, y'all should SEE this place-- wow} and totally unplug from the rest of humanity's debauchery.

Here is a link to the " cabin" that my parents rented for us this year. The place is beautifully constructed and decorated-- but for me the VIEW is what calls my soul to a much-needed renewing.

Pinecone Manor

In a few days, Brian & I will be among some of my favorite humans in one of Creation's most beautiful places. {yes, I know the Rockies & the Alps are majestic, but for me NOTHING is as awe-inspiring as the Appalachian Highlands in Western North Carolina.

 Some of my best memories from childhood are centered in exploring these mountains with my parents & younger brother.  I'm a coastal resident now {and never want to live anywhere else}, but the mountains call me back each summer. These old peaks are so special to me that Brian & I honeymooned in Hendersonville, NC. {which is farther south-- almost on the South Carolina border}

The views from the Great Room " wall of windows" and the view from the deck are perfect places for this Coastal-Living Mountaineer Woman to spend mornings in quiet contemplation.  I look forward to sitting on the deck with a cup of coffee in my hand, breathing the clean air and, as Dad says " watch the mountains wake up"

Escaping from the troubles of the human condition-- if only for a week-- is essential for my spiritual & emotional health. Looking at the terrible things that people put other people through is sickening. Many people are gross-- the Pandemic & the last election cycle revealed just how depraved we humans are & I need a brain/soul rest from knowing about every act of injustice that humans commit against our own species.

The social- and-other-media break cannot come soon enough.

Find the Light.
